Calcium and Magnesium carbonate in water combine with soap and shampoo to form a soap film on the skin and scalp. This film retains dirt and can harbor bacteria. Hard Water can also leave mineral deposits and soap curd film on the bath tub, shower doors, and tile surfaces.
Conditioned water will rinse away the deposits and film.

Dishwashing
Hard Water combines with soaps and detergents in dishwashers and forms curds which will leave spots on your dishes, glassware, and silverware. Conditioned water will rinse curds away.

Cleaning Agents in detergents, grease and oils in dirty laundry water combine to form soap curds in hard water.
